Porque é que estás a sofrer num lugar tão
bonito? É uma carta sobre janelas e espelhos.
Janelas, tudo aquilo que está do lado de lá, de
fora, que é exterior e estranho, mas que dá
horizonte. Janela-montanha. Janela-ar. Espelho
é tudo o que reflecte, tudo o que vem de volta,
tudo o que faz abalar, cá dentro. Tudo de bom e
de mau. É zona cósmica que tento em vão
racionalizar. Sou eu ontem, amanhã e sempre.
Não há chão neste texto, só vertigem. Pudesse
eu habitar uma casa sem espelhos ou janelas e
seria a mais cega das ceguinhas, seria cegueta!
Preciso de ver, preciso de te ver e preciso de me
ver.

Nasceu em Lisboa (1978). Licenciada em Formação
de Actores/Encenadores pela Escola Superior de
Teatro e Cinema de Lisboa (2003) e mestre (MPhil) em Intimidade e Performances Autobiográficas pelo
Departamento de Estudos de Teatro, Cinema e
Televisão da Universidade de Glasgow (2009). Na
sua formação não-académica destaca a participação
no workshop de performance dirigido pela
companhia americana Goat Island, integrado na
Winter School da National Review of Live Art,
Glasgow (2008); na 2ª Edição do curso de
Encenação para Teatro dirigido pelos Third
Angel/Programa Gulbenkian Criatividade e Criação
Artística (2007). Como actriz trabalhou com os
encenadores: Estrela Novais, Tiago Rodrigues, Luís
Romeira, Madalena Vitorino, Pedro
Alves/Teatromosca, João Brites/Teatro O Bando e
João Ricardo. É fundadora e directora artística do
Teatro do Silêncio onde dirigiu e foi co-criadora do
espectáculo .mostra (2004); encenou Na Margem da
Vida, de Gao Xingjian (2006); foi co-autora e
intérprete em Glasgow 4 O Nome De Todas As Ruas
(2008); dirigiu e foi co-criadora dos espectáculos
Rádio Pirata (2009); Cartas, Telegramas e Postais
(2010) e Horn Ok Please (2011). Foi uma dos vinte
artistas residentes no Sítio das Artes/Programa O
Estado do Mundo da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian
integrando a área da encenação (2007). Realizou
uma residência artística na cidade de Huesca, em
Espanha ao abrigo do Map - Programa de Apoio à
Mobilidade de Jovens Artistas (2009). Em 2010
fundou a Editora Elefante Azul Clarinho com o
objectivo de publicar textos escritos para cena. Foi
professora de teatro durante oito anos no ensino
básico, secundário e superior. Actualmente integra o
projecto DezxDez para a educação e as artes numa
iniciativa do Programa Descobrir da Fundação
Calouste Gulbenkian e é voluntária na área da
escrita criativa com doentes mentais. A revista
galega de artes cénicas, Núa, no seu próximo
número, dedicado às novas dramaturgias
portuguesas, publica um dos seus últimos textos.
Why are you suffering in such a beautiful
place? It's a letter on windows and mirrors.
Windows, everything that is on the other side,
from the outside, which is strange and foreign,
but gives horizon. Window-mountain.
Window-air. Mirror is what reflects everything
that is, everything that comes back, all that
unsettles inside. Everything good and evil. It’s
a cosmic zone I try in vain to rationalize. It’s
me yesterday, today and forever. There is no
ground in this text, only vertigo. Only I could
live in a house without mirrors or windows and
I would be the most blind of the blind, I would
be completely sightless! I need to see, I need to
see you and I need to see me.

Born in Lisbon (1978). Degree in Training
Actors/Directors from the School of Theatre and
Cinema in Lisbon (2003) and Master (MPhil) in Autobiographical Intimacy and Performances by the
Department of Theatre Studies, Film and Television
at the University of Glasgow ( 2009). In her
non-academic training we highlight the participation
in the performance workshop led by American
company Goat Island, part of the Winter School of
the National Review of Live Art, Glasgow (2008),
the 2nd Edition of Course Staging for Theater
directed by Third Angel/Gulbenkian Creativity and
Artistic Creation (2007). As an actress she worked
with directors: Star Novais, Tiago Rodrigues, Luis
Romeira, Madalena Vitorino, Pedro
Alves/Teatromosca, João Brites /Teatro O Bando
and João Ricardo. She is the founder and artistic
director of the Theatre of Silence where she directed
and co-created the show .Show (2004); staged At
The Edge of Life, Gao Xingjian (2006), and was
co-author and performer in Glasgow 4 All In The
Name of All Streets (2008), directed and co-creator
of the performances Pirate Radio (2009); Letters
Telegrams and Cards (2010) and Horn Ok Please
(2011). She was one of the twenty resident artists at
the Arts Site/The State of the World Program of the
Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, integrating the
staging area of studies (2007). Held an artistic
residency in the city of Huesca, Spain under Map -
Mobility Support Program for Young Artists (2009).
In 2010 she founded the Light Blue Elephant
Publisher with the aim of publishing texts written for
plays. She taught theater for eight years in primary,
secondary and high schools. Currently she integrates
the project DezxDez for education and the arts in an
initiative of the Discover Program of the Calouste
Gulbenkian Foundation, and she is a volunteer in the
area of creative writing with the mentally ill. The
galician arts magazine, Núa, in its next issue,
dedicated to new Portuguese dramaturgy, publishes
one of her last texts.
